Artifact: English Language Learners Special Education school years 2014-2015 and 2015-2016
Justification: Through my time working in my Title I school I have had the ability to sit on many different IEP, 504 and behavior meetings to meet the needs of children. I have rated myself as exceeds due to my ability to understand and be knowledgable in an IEP meeting.

Artifact: Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Training
Justification: Through becoming an Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia tutor, I have been able to analyze how to help children that are struggling to read. Through working with programs in my classroom such as LEXIA, I have analyzed data and have helped children fill in gaps in phonemic awareness. I have rated myself as exceeds due to my ability to support learners in all levels.

Justification: In my experience at my Title I school, I have learned that ELL parents need the most communication and help to understand if their child is struggling in school. Through communication parent-teacher meetings, and letters sent home in multi-languages, I have harbored a sense of communication so that parents and teachers are on the same side. I have rated myself as exceeds due to my ability to foster communication with ELL families.

Justification: I have rated myself as exceeds based on my ability to look at assessment with ELL students and understand that every child is diverse and needs to be treated as an individual. From a gifted or a limited ELL student, I have described and detailed how assessment can be changed so that true talents and recognizing strengths can make the difference when teaching.

Justification: I have rated myself as exceeds due to my ability to understand how standards-based practices can aid in recognizing how to accommodate ELL students. Through being able to recognize these practices, I have changed my teaching style and have ultimately become a better educator.

Justification: Through developing and crafting the Stratton website, I have given parents, teachers, and students access to the school links, information and communication. I have rated myself as exceeds due to my ability to craft technology to meet the needs of the community at large.

Justification: I have rated myself as exceeds based on my ability participate and work with professionals in an educational setting. I have written this paper in my ELL class which I feel signifies my belief in how importance communication with professionals is important based on the need when discussing diverse learners.
